Queenstown, also known as adventure capital of the world is amazing place. There are bunch of activities you can choose in Queenstown. You can also use Queenstown as base and drive to other places for Day Trips like drive to Glenorchy.   

Arrival

Queenstown is around 3.5 hour drive from Mount Cook.

Hotel Stay

You can use several different services for booking your hotels. I personally used hotels.com which has coupons for discount. There are several lodges and hotels. We stayed at Whistler Apartments for 3 nights. 

Things to Do

Queenstown is called adventure capital of the world and for a good reason. There are countless activities that you can choose from. 

Food

Queenstown has really a lot to offer in terms of Food as well. Compared with other remote towns you can find plenty of choices in Queenstown.
  1. Stratosfare Restaurant (Can't miss it and Reaching there is half the fun)

  3. Thai Cusines
  4. FerBurger
We also used uber eats to get delivery at hotel you might find list of nearby restaurant in application. 

Departure

From Queenstown next destination for us was Milford Sound while stay was in Te Anau which is on the way for Milford Sound.

Lake Tekapo - Twizel - Mount Cook

Lake Tekapo Around 3 hour drive from Christchurch is Lake Tekapo. Lake Tekapo is New Zealand's most famous and favorite lake. It is also called most picturesque lake of the New Zealand. View of mountains behind the lake is really beautiful. New Zealand South Island Trip (2 weeks)

In November 2019 I decided to have a relaxing 16 days trip in New Zealand South Island. I am glad I did this trip before the Covid-19 Pandemic began. I did a lot of research and preparation to finalize finer details of the trip. Below is the map that I came up with after extensive research and planning.
